John Storer Charnwood is a volunteer-rich organisation relying heavily on the time, skills, inspiration and commitment of volunteers to support and assist the work of the staff team.
Volunteers come from all walks of life and have many different motivations for volunteering including:
• Using or building on skills and experience • Learning new skills • Gaining experience for employment • Making new friends • Increasing confidence • Having a sense of purpose • Having something to do to fill time • Feeling useful or needed • Giving something back • Trying something different
Volunteers help in all aspects of the Organisation's work including catering, transport, Well-being and House activities, Governance, fundraising and administration.
