JSH Social Drawing and Painting Group
The JSH Social Painting Group has been meeting on Tuesday evenings for the past 9 years. Marion Hull, Chairperson, said she formed the group with art friends Jeff Proverbs and Christine Brewin after their evening class closed down.
Tutor Carol Woodlands guides everyone along with a variety of painting styles, giving the group confidence to try different techniques.
Judith Carnegie-Brown had a picture accepted at the Harley Gallery in the Dukeries, Mansfield and was delighted to hear that it had been sold. The picture was entitled 'Hats.
Norman Johnstone was recently asked by the Suez Veterans Association to paint a life-size picture of a soldier to be displayed during a rededication ceremony at the National Arboretum at Alrewas later this month.
The class continues to develop its talents and friendships. The group is full at the moment, but a waiting list is available.
