Make A Difference Day 2010

Proud students from Shepshed High School holding their MADD certificates.

Around 200 students from local schools and youth groups (Passion, Shepshed Youth Centre, St Winefride's Primary School and Shepshed High School) took part in a variety of activities during the day from selling delicious home-made cakes to playing dominoes. After the event they and were asked for their feedback. Below are some of the positive and inspiring comments made by local students.

Niamh, Age 10 said:

Volunteering made me feel warm and cosy with that special feeling inside which tells you that you have done something good. I feel pleased that someone was happy because of me.

Georgia, Age 11 said:

It made me feel proud and good for doing something for someone else. I felt it was a good experience to mix with people that are older than me.

Louisa, Age 11 said:

Volunteering made me feel helpful and gave me a proud feeling. It also made me feel special that my class had been given such a great opportunity.

Jack, Age 10 said:

It made me feel great. I had a warm glow inside me. I hope I could do something like that again.
